Wales International Storytelling Festival / Gwyl Chwedleuo Ryngwladol Cymru

Our next international storytelling festival will take place on 3-5 July 2009. Meanwhile, the festival is busily involved in many storytelling initiatives throughout Wales, including:

First Saturday Storytelling at the Wales Millennium Centre
On the first Saturday of every month, free lunchtime storytelling performances feature the finest storytellers from Wales and the world.

St David’s Day special! Two superb performers treat us to an hour of songs and magical stories from their native Wales.

Young Storytellers Project in Vale of Glamorgan Schools
In summer 2008, the festival will be working closely with the Vale of Glamorgan Council on an innovative project to encourage storytelling skills among pupils in six Barry primary schools. Pupils will then bid for the title ‘Beyond The Border Young Storyteller of The Year’ at the 2009 Festival.

The festival is also planning other exciting storytelling projects for 2008 in discussion with Caerphilly Groundworks, The National Museum of Wales, and the Brecon Beacons Green Man Festival. Watch this space!
