Travel to the Festival

We are advising to plan ahead this year as the weekend is going be very busy across South Wales, with the Volvo Ocean Race in Cardiff Bay throughout the weekend and centenary celebrations of the Women’s Movement, Processions, in Cardiff on Sunday 10 June. Camping and Accommodation

A wee reminder that this year there is no camping on site this year. If you haven’t booked accommodation yet make sure you do as soon as possible as we know that Acorn and Heritage Campsites are fully booked. A full list of accommodation near St Donats / festival can be found here on our website.

Parking

There is plenty of car parking available 5 minutes or so level walk from the main site.
No parking is allowed overnight.

Dogs

Only assistance dogs are allowed on site and for their own safety no dogs are to be left in parked cars.

BTB Bus to Acorn and Heritage Camp Sites.

While there is free parking at St Donats, there will be a special BTB Bus Service to take you from both Heritage Coast and Acorn Campsites to St Donats first thing in the morning and back last thing at night.

Three 15-seater minibuses will se​rve each site as follows:-

From 9.00 to 10.30 the buses will do several runs from campsite to the festival car park, aiming to get everyone to the site for an 11.00 am start.  We recommend you get to the campsite bus stop early!
At the end of the day, the minibuses will run from the castle end of the main drive starting at 10.15.  The buses will do several runs but please be there promptly.  You won’t want to miss the last one (11.15)!
A local Bus Service operates throughout the day, and there are local taxi firms available. This information can be found on the BTB website (Andrew to create page Link).

(NB This service does not apply to Llandow Caravan and Camp Site, nor does the local bus serve this site) 

Disabled Parking

Disabled parking is available at St Donats close to the main venues. If you would like to book a space in advance please let us know by contacting BTB on info@beyondtheborder.com

Opening and Closing Times

Gates Open at 9.30am, with the first artists from 11am.

The programme will finish at 10pm each night.

BSL Performances

We have a several BSL Signed performances over the weekend. Please see our programme or website for further details (link).

Layout of the Festival

As this year’s festival is a Birthday Party special the layout of the event is more exclusive and more intimate. We have 5 venues across the site. Please look at our website nearer the time to familiarise yourself and your families of where everything is including Lost Children, Box Office, Information Desk, Toilets and most importantly – the venues!

Card Payments on Site

Please note that most traders will not be able to take credit card / contactless payments. There is no cash point on site. The Info Desk at St Donats Arts Centre will be offering a cashback service, max withdrawal £50, but please come prepared.

Programme and Merchandise

Programmes will be on sale at St Donats for 50p.

You can order your special 25th Birthday Barnstormer t-shirt, hoodie or tote bag online only(link) before or after the event.

Food and Drink on Site

Please do not bring alcohol on site. We have a range of food traders and the Arts Centre Bar will sell a range of alcoholic drinks.

Security Measure on site

Like most venues and festival events that attract a large audience we now do bag searches as you arrive on site.

Streaming

We are very excited that for the first time we will be streaming performances around the world. If you have friends who are not going to be with us this time please let them know they can “look in” on how its going.  Final details will be on the website.

Respecting residents

The St Donats Castle site is a residential school and the event is within term time. Students and staff will be in residence.  This is their home, please respect that.
